Training
Training is a process of continuous learning. Through the training programmes, the organization is trying to impart knowledge and skills to the staff from different disciplines. This activity helps in creating favourable environment to bring about the desired changes in the context of mission of the organization.
This year the training programmes were designed considering the needs expressed by the staff. The guality of the training content, methodology followed, is improving gradually.
MITTRA conducts training programmes at its training centres situated at Peint, Nashik district and Jawhar, Thane district. Both the training centres are well eguipped with the necessary lodging, boarding and teaching-learning facilities like LCD and laptop computers and other equipments.
MITTRA Training Campuses
Jawhar Campus :
Can cater to two trainings at a time and house about 50-60 trainees at a time in the dormitory.
Thematic plantations – Floriculture, Aromatic plants, Medicinal, Ornamental, Fruit plants etc.

Peint Campus :

Both the centres are situated in a natural environment which is conducive for learning. Both the training campuses are backed by the demonstrations of training topics, field plots for experimentation and trials technigues like organic farming, germ plasm conservation.
Subjects for these trainings included the following:
- Capacity building of People's Organisations -SHGs, Wadi tukdi, Vibhag.
- Improved Agriculture-Floriculture, Vegetable cultivation, grafting techniques.
- Income Generation Activities-Honey bee keeping, fishery
Development Programmes- Dairy cattle management, goat rearing, Water resources management, health training for traditional healers and adolescent

Training about Livestock Development Program
117 training programs on the subjects like mastitis, preventive health, vaccination, balanced diet, dairy management were organized during March 2008 to April 2009. 1404 participants including 394 women, benefitted from the knowledge inputs given in the trainings. Six batches of the course 'Pashudhan Mitra' were completed, benefitting 141 participants. 6o% of the participants have started their work in the field. This will prove helpful for the livestock development programs likely to start in future.
